Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 July 2026
Jugnuu (“Jugnuu”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through jugnuu.in, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the rights you have under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made under it.
Jugnuu is currently a pre-launch product. At this stage our website does one thing: it lets you join a waitlist so we can tell you when we open. This policy is written to reflect that limited scope.
1. What personal data we collect
We keep this deliberately minimal.
- Email address — the only personal information we ask you to provide. You share it voluntarily when you join our waitlist.
- Basic technical information — when you visit the site, our infrastructure providers may automatically log standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type and the date and time of access. This is used only for security and to keep the site running, and we do not use it to personally identify you.
We do not collect your name, phone number, location, payment details, or any sensitive personal data, and we do not ask you to create an account.
2. How we use your data
We use the email address you provide only to:
- notify you when Jugnuu launches or early access opens;
- send you occasional important updates about the product before launch; and
- respond to you if you contact us.
We will not send you unrelated marketing, and we will not sell, rent or trade your email address to anyone.
3. Our lawful basis — your consent
Under the DPDP Act, we process your email address on the basis of the consent you give when you submit it through the waitlist form. That consent is free, specific, informed and unambiguous, and is limited to the purposes described in Section 2.
You can withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it — simply email us at founder@jugnuu.in and we will remove you from the waitlist. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we lawfully did before you withdrew it.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Service providers (Data Processors) who help us operate the waitlist — in particular Supabase, which securely stores the waitlist database on our behalf. We also load web fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address as part of serving those fonts. These providers may process data on servers located outside India.
- Authorities, if we are required to disclose data by law, court order or a valid request from a government agency.
5. Where your data is stored and how we protect it
Your email address is stored in a database hosted by our service provider and may be processed on servers outside India. We take reasonable security safeguards — including encrypted (HTTPS) transmission and access controls — to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse, in line with the reasonable security practices expected under Indian law. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we work to keep the amount of data we hold, and therefore the risk, as small as possible.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your email address only for as long as we need it for the waitlist — typically until a reasonable period after Jugnuu launches, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. After that we will erase it, unless we are required to retain it to comply with a legal obligation.
7. Your rights under the DPDP Act
As a Data Principal, you have the right to:
- Access — ask what personal data of yours we hold and how we use it;
- Correction — ask us to correct or update your email address;
- Erasure — ask us to delete your email address from our records;
- Withdraw consent — at any time, as described in Section 3;
- Grievance redressal — raise any concern about how we handle your data (see Section 11); and
- Nominate — nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at founder@jugnuu.in. We will respond within the timelines required by law.
8. Cookies and tracking
Our waitlist page does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics or advertising profiles on it. Third-party services we rely on (such as Google Fonts and Supabase) may set essential or functional cookies needed to deliver their service.
9. Children
Jugnuu’s waitlist is intended for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us their email address, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as our product and the law evolve. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
11. Contact & grievance officer
If you have any questions about this policy, or you want to exercise your rights or raise a grievance about how we handle your data, please contact:
Abhishek Gautam, Founder
Email: founder@jugnuu.in
We will acknowledge and address grievances within the timeframe required under the applicable Indian data protection law.
